The Tonight Programme: Insomnia

Earlier tonight, I watched the programme on Insomnia reported by ITV’s Tonight. It was very disturbing considering one man, who is now suffering from Parkinsons Disease, was unable to sleep for a full twelve months. It also reported that the NHS do not focus on insomnia but more on sleep apnea. It did not reference natural health remedies for insomnia e.g. using specific essential oils, eating sleep inducing foods like lettuce or drinking Horlicks or cocoa. It didn’t even mention masturbation as a tool to immediately relax the body, which is why I felt compelled to write this article and hopefully help others suffering from this health destroying condition.

This article discusses the three variations of Insomnia, why it occurs, and offers some natural ways to control the problem that were not disclosed on ITV’s Tonight Programme, which is usually the case from mainstream media channels. And it’s not good to promote sleeping pills are an effective cure, since over ten million sleeping pills are prescribed per year, especially for long-term sufferers of insomnia.

I used to suffer from short-term insomnia. It is probably a symptom of my Kundalini experience, but waking up in the middle of the night and then being unable to get back to sleep is depressing indeed, especially since I love sleep. I really felt for some of the case studies on The Tonight Programme.

Another key way to prevent and help insomnia may be to try self-hypnosis or clinical hypnosis (although a tad more expensive but is available on the NHS through the psychological therapies team). The self hypnosis link above comes highly recommended. Pay a one off fee of $19.99 and receive access to over thirty different instantly downloadable self-hypnosis tracks, which offer to treat a range of problems from anxiety and weight loss to OCD and writer’s block.

While performing research for The Horny Book of Happiness (previously The Sexual Mind) on natural ways to enhance the pheromones, I discovered that lemon essential oil is both a stimulant and a sedative, ideal to relax individuals with a chattering mind. The sublime vanilla essential oil is a natural aphrodisiac especially loved by men, but also a natural sedative, which may help long-term sufferers of insomnia. Both are readily affordable and a wonderful site where I buy my essential oils is Aromatherapy Direct. They also offer free delivery with a minimum order of just £7.50. I’m obsessed with essential oils. I use them as natural perfume, to cleanse the air, disinfect my kitchen, and for relaxation. Dab a couple of drops on the pillow and hopefully enter a restful sleep.

Other Suggestions To Treat Insomnia

  • Write down every detail simmering through the mind. Is the mental chatter due to future financial worries or something other?
  • If one is spiritual or religious, try to surrender the problem to God.
  • Avoid stimulants like coffee, chocolate, and cigarettes several hours before bedtime. Even the TV can be stimulating for the mind.
  • Listen to relaxing music.
  • Request a massage from a partner. Use five drops of lavender essential oil to a tablespoon of olive or grape seed oil. A shoulder and scalp massage is particularly relaxing.
  • Have sex or masturbate.

One does not have to suffer with insomnia. There are tons of natural ways to treat this condition, but we usually have to conduct research for it. Hopefully this article is of help to insomnia sufferers. I give permission to add this article to any website. Also try this insomnia cure link.
